J.V. MAGOON, PSWC
J.V. Magoon moved to Lake County from the Bay Area over twenty-eight years ago. Since that time she has been a participating artist in many shows and competitions, and has garnered numerous awards in many media. She has shown her work extensively, including galleries in St. Helena, Calistoga, Santa Rosa, Sacramento, and Mendocino; and has been accepted in regional, national, and international competitions. While Magoon enjoys working in many media, over the last few years she has concentrated on her pastel landscapes. Magoon is a member of the Lake County Arts Council, the Konocti Plein Air Painters, and a signature member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast I am fortunate to live in a beautiful area, and paint on location with the Konocti Plein Air Painters. While this experience has enhanced my studio work, most of my pieces are executed in my studio from my photographs of the quiet spaces and special places which have captivated me, and attempt to convey a sense of tranquility and serenity in my paintings.
I believe that artists have no choice but to find a vehicle of expression for their creative energy.
