Joan Facca was born and raised in Redwood City, California and Lake County has been a part of her life since childhood......She and her husband came here, to the Lake, to live in 1985. A lifelong love of art, and a desire for self expression has led her to paint with oils and pastels. She finds inspiration and natural beauty in every corner of Lake County and hopes to share that with others through her paintings. Joan has studied with several local artists, including Gail Salituri, Pat Hopper, Jack Ballance and Judy Magoon. She is a member of Konocti Plein Aire Painters and the Calistoga Art Guild., and has won many awards in local competitions. She is currently represented by Ohlone Arts, in Fremont, California.

I believe that everyone has a need for self-expression. We all take our own path to that end. Mine has always been through Art. I paint the natural landscape because I can't find the words to describe what I feel when in the presence of such beauty. I hope to share those feelings through my paintings. I hope a viewer will take away an awareness and appreciation for the beauty all around us.
